OWT Pre-treatment Depackaging

• It can treat a wide range of packaged and unpackaged organic waste.
• Guarantees a substrate purity of 99.6% organic content in the dry matter.
• Water content can be adjusted variably between 8% and 18%, with a maximum grain size of 12 mm.
• Prevents impurities and inerts from entering the fermenters, where they would cause settlement and crusting and reduced gas production.
• It reduces the grain size of the organic material and increases its surface area, triggering the fermentation process immediately.
• In connection with an OWT biogas plant, this high-quality substrate ensures specific gas production of around 220 m³/t of waste or more.
• The separated light fraction is equivalent to high-quality RDF and can be used as a substitute fuel.

VIA Solutions’ OWT Technology can treat all kinds of Organic Waste, either collected by a separate collection scheme or as part of the general waste.

1. A tippable receiving hopper OWT Fill for easy feeding, prevention of bridging, correct dosing and easy cleaning.
2. A horizontal hammer mill OWT Mill for the efficient separation of a clean light fraction, reduction of grain size, and enlargement of the surface area of organic materials.
3. A sedimentation unit OWT Tank to separate heavy impurities and reduce the floating layer.

Technical details

The OWT pre-treatment technology can be delivered in two different combinations and sizes. The system is modular and can be scaled up as required to increase capacity.
